TOMORROW at Downtown Farmers Market!    Cleveland Cooks w/ Bonbon Pastry & Cafe - FREE Cooking Class! Chef Kevin Joecken from Bonbon Pastry & Cafe will lead our final cooking class of the season, tomorrow, December 16 at 1:30-3:00pm at Old Stone Church. Chef Joecken will prepare the Bubble & Squeak dish on the cafe's menu, using root veggies from the market.  To attend this intimate hands-on cooking class, please email downtownclevelandmarket@gmail.com or call (440) 821-0254. About Cleveland Cooks A monthly cooking series providing hands-on demonstrations from area chefs. Part of the Growhio Education Sessions, classes include a guided market tour, hands-on instruction in meal preparation and tips on how to grow produce easily at home. Classes are free and open to the public but will target Downtown residents and employees. Cleveland Cooks was made possible thanks to a grant from Neighborhood Connections. Happenings at Tremont Farmers' Market Today

Winter Market Location Holy Ghost Greek (Byzantine) Catholic Church and Cultural Center 2420 W.14 St, on the corner of Kenilworth Ave.   Parking available at the Church, across the street at OLA St. Joseph and on Kenilworth Ave. Goodness, we are zooming through December!  We have two markets left in the 2011 season, this week and Dec 20th.  This experiment in season extension has a been slightly bumpy, but a great step forward and overall, a success.   Looking ahead to the 2012 Season.   (January is our time to hibernate and regenerate) We rev up the market once again in February, starting Tues, Feb 7, and will continue biweekly on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of February, March and April.  Same time (4-7pm), same location (Holy Ghost). My fridge is really, really empty.  I timed it that way---it desperately needed cleaning, so I made sure to use all my veggies....there are only a few items in my fridge at all....but tonight I will stock up.  Nice to clean out, clean up and start fresh! TOMORROW at Downtown Farmers Market!    Food and Toy Drive Tomorrow will be the last day that shoppers can give back by bringing canned goods and new, unwrapped toys to the market. These items will be donated to Old Stone Church on December 4. The food items will be used for Old Stone’s free weekly grocery bag program and the toys will given to Family Promise of Greater Cleveland, a shelter for homeless families. (See here for requested food items) The Grateful Dog Bakery is back - (tomorrow only) Your canine friends deserve only the best this holiday season. Stock up on The Grateful Dog Bakery's gourmet and all natural dog treats tomorrow at DFM. Their products use only the best ingredients sourced from local, sustainable farms. Happy Thanksgiving, however you choose to celebrate.  Usually that involves food of some sort or another......speaking of which, we'll have lots of it at market!  Stock up for your feast this week.  See just how "local" you can be. Winter Market Location: Holy Ghost Greek (Byzantine) Catholic Church and Cultural Center 2420 W.14 St, on the corner of Kenilworth Ave.  Parking available at the Church, across the street at OLA St. Joseph and on Kenilworth Ave. Apparently, November 22nd is Start Your Own Country Day. It was originally conceived in 1939 at the World's Fair in New York. Its conception was to honor those free spirited souls who dared to hope and believe in a better world where they too could declare any land their own.  Hmmm....... Music: Wesley Washington will be busking at market! For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a musician plays, you donate directly to them, usually there is a case placed out for donations.  Wes played for us this summer, and I am really glad he's coming back!
