Happenings at Tremont Farmers' Market

Greetings, Hungry Folks.
Oct 25:  An end, but not The End.

This is our last hurrah in Lincoln Park for 2011, but next week we trundle inside The Tremont Montessori School to embark upon our newly expanded season.  Details below.

This week:

5PM Chef Demo:  Sue Carrara is our Chef Demo Coordinator Extraordinaire!  She will be cooking up sweet potato fries for us this week.  Can't beat that!  Check out Sue's blog, Tremont Eats.

Music:  Noon will be bringing her keyboard and her beautiful voice to market.  More about Noon.

Featured Non-Profit:
Quest Community School, a progressive public school providing non-traditional paths to graduation through individualized, career-focused academics, is currently accepting application for enrollment.

A Few Shout Outs today:

*To the Murrays for letting us use their garage as storage!

**To our first official Market Sponsors:
Jason Muller
and
Hubbub Custom Bicycles

Each step of the way, we become a stronger market.  Kudos to everyone involved.

***Kale Karma (AKA Kale it Forward): A big thanks to Kathy andNate Sonnhalter for help with some market data entry!  My  surplus of free-range, sow-itself kale paid off....  : )
Recycle/Reuse/Reduce:  Please return items clean.
Bring your bags, reduce your use of plastic.
Return egg cartons to J&R Farms.
Return tea containers to t by Sarah.
Return glass jars to Auburn Apiary, Blaze Gourmet, Godmother's Pizzas, and Abby's Kitchen.

Another way to give: St. Augustine's Church, which is across the street from the market, supports TFM in many ways.  Please consider purchasing food from the market to put in our Hunger Center bucket at the Customer Service Tent; I will personally make sure it is taken to the kitchen across the street.  For years, the folks at St. Augustine's have fed many, many people 7 days a week.

**TFM t-shirts ($12) and aprons ($15) for sale at the Customer Service Tent!

EBT Proudly accepted! EBT Incentive Program still in effect. Participants who use more than $5 from their Ohio Direction Cards receive an extra $5 to spend at the market. EBT can be used to purchase food plants!

WIC and Senior's Nutrition Coupons also accepted.

Vendors:
Abby's Kitchen, Blaze Gourmet, Erie's Edge Farm, Godmother's, J&R Farms (formerly Hickory Acres Meats), Lucky Penny Creamery, Morning DEW Orchards, Morningside Farm, Ms. Julie's Kitchen, Noon Sharpening, No Whey Chocolates, Ohio Farm Direct, Plant Kingdom Bakery, Pierogies of Cleveland (formerly Posh Pierogies), Por-Bar Farms, Red Basket Farm, Red Cedar Coffee, Spicehound, and Urban Growth Farms.

*Thank you for your ongoing interest in the Tremont Farmers' Market!

Our market is part of a special ODA-grant funded collaboration with Growhioand several other independent farmers' markets across greater Cleveland. We would like to be able to send you joint updates and newsletters to keep you apprised of this collaboration and what exciting things it will mean for our independent markets, but we want to be sensitive to your mailing preferences.

If you would like to receive these mailings, we hope you'll subscribe now.

If you are not interested in receiving collaboration-oriented newsletters you do not need to take any action.  Thanks again for your interest!
